Brighten your day with this tangy and sweet protein shake! It’s the perfect drink after a hot and sweaty workout. All you need is 5 ingredients.
I love making this raspberry lemonade smoothie on hot summer days. This shake contains over 30 grams of protein, so it’s great to whip up after a workout. This recipe is balanced with carbs and protein to keep you full for a while. It’s also full of antioxidants from the raspberries, which helps with fighting free radicals.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of frozen raspberries
- 1/2 frozen banana: For a creamier smoothie.
- Juice of 1 lemon: If your lemon is small or not juicy, I recommend squeezing 2 lemons (about 3 tbsp worth of juice).
- 1 cup of plant milk: My favorite is soy milk because it’s the highest in protein and creamy. One cup of soy milk has 7 grams of protein, but just use whatever non-dairy milk you have already or prefer. Almond or coconut milk would taste great in this as well.
- 1 teaspoon of agave syrup: Maple syrup would work as well.
- Vanilla protein powder: My favorite brand of vegan protein powder with great ingredients is the Ora Organic Vegan Protein Powder.
You will need:
- High-Speed Blender: I use the Vitamix E310. It’s definitely an investment but completely worth the money because it’s just as amazing as the day I bought it 5 years ago! Before the Vitamix, I would use cheap lower-end blenders that would all break within a couple of months.
Which Vanilla Protein Powder do I use?
I used to buy whatever protein powder was the cheapest, but then I realized not all of them have great ingredients. It’s important to pick a company that tests its protein powders and other supplements for heavy metals.
When I switch to a good protein powder it helped with my bloating, digestion, and skin. This one is made with clean ingredients and tastes great. All while being relatively affordable: Ora Organic Vegan Protein Powder (Vanilla).
How to make a raspberry lemonade smoothie:
To a high-speed blender, add 1 cup of frozen raspberries, 1/2 a frozen banana, the juice of 1 lemon (3 tablespoons), 1 cup of soy milk, 1 teaspoon of agave (or maple syrup), and vanilla protein powder.
Blend for 1-2 minutes. If the smoothie is too thick or not blending, add additional water to help the blender. Enjoy!
