Halloween is my favorite holiday. I love the decorations, the costumes, and all the spooky movies. My favorites are Hocus Pocus, Halloweentown, the Twilight series😂, and anything by Tim Burton. I especially love making these fun Halloween treats.

Oreo Spider Halloween Cookies

Ingredients for spider cookies:

  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips – Dairy free if you’re vegan.
  • 1 tsp coconut oil – This makes the melted chocolate smoother and easier to work with.
  • 12 Oreo cookies – Preferably the Halloween ones. If you don’t have those, I’d recommend getting the regular double-stuffed ones. Oreos are one of those accidentally vegan items, so everyone can partake in making this recipe!
  • 36 pretzel sticks
  • 24 Candy Eyeballs: When you’re buying them, make sure to read the ingredients if you’re vegan. This one I got on Amazon happens to be: 1 Bottle of Small Candy Eyeballs.
  • 3 tbsps black sprinkles – You find this in the baking section of your grocery store or on Amazon.

How to make oreo spiders:

To a small bowl, add 1/2 cup of chocolate chips and 1 tsp of coconut oil. Microwave for a minute or more until it’s fully melted.

Break 3 pretzel sticks in half. Twist the Oreo to remove the top wafer (the blank side) and press the pretzel sticks into the cream side of the Oreo.

Pour 1/2 tsp of melted chocolate on top, then press the ‘blank’ Oreo wafer back on top of the pretzel legs. The melted chocolate is there to secure the oreo back together.

Dip one side of the cookie into the melted chocolate. Place a couple of candy eyes on top and add sprinkles.

Place the cookies in the fridge for 10 minutes or more so the chocolate hardens. Enjoy!
