You and the kiddos will love making this fun Halloween recipe! These mummy hot dogs are simple and only require 3 ingredients.
Make these yummy treats for a Halloween dinner, or before your kids go trick-or-treating. It’s a fun spin on the classic pigs in a blanket recipe, and this recipe is fully vegan.
These hot dog mummies are kid-friendly and guaranteed to be a hit at a Halloween party! Wrap the vegan hot dogs with crescent dough, bake, and top with candy eyes.
Mummy Hot Dog Ingredients:
- 8 vegan hot dogs: For this recipe, I used the Lightlife Smart Dogs Vegan Hot Dogs.
- 1/2 can of Pillsbury Original Crescent Rolls (8 oz/8 count): These are accidentally vegan! Perfect to use for this Halloween treat or any time you want to make vegan croissants or pigs in a blanket.
- 16 candy eyeballs: The candy is solely for the spooky Halloween look. I don’t recommend actually eating them with the hot dog rolls. When you’re buying them, make sure to read the ingredients if you’re vegan. This one I got on Amazon happens to be vegan: 1 Bottle of Small Candy Eyeballs.
Serve with:
- Ketchup
- Mustard
- Vegan ranch

How to make mummy hot dogs:
Preheat the oven to 350 Fahrenheit (176 Celsius). Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.
Open the crescent can and unroll half of the dough out flat on a surface (store the other half in the fridge). Cut the dough into 1/2-inch strips.
Wrap and stretch the pieces of dough around each vegan hot dog. Let it overlap and criss-cross but leave gaps so it looks like bandages.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until they look golden brown. Let it cool down for five minutes.
Optional: Attach candy eyes by dipping the back of them into a condiment (like ketchup or mustard) and stick a couple onto every hot dog mummy.
The candy eyeballs are solely for a spooky Halloween look. I don’t recommend actually eating them with the hot dogs, but if that’s your kind of thing then go right ahead.
