Description
Put your ripe bananas to use with this vegan chocolate chip banana bread recipe! This classic treat is easy to make and has a deliciously sweet aroma that makes your home smell amazing. It’s perfectly fluffy, moist, and pairs wonderfully with a glass of milk or coffee.

- 3 ripe bananas*
- 1/3 cup coconut oil, melted (or vegetable oil)
- 1/2 cup organic cane sugar
- 1/4 cup unsweetened apple sauce
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup of vegan semisweet chocolate chips (plus more for on top)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350˚F (180˚C).
- In a large bowl, add the ripe bananas and mash with the back of a fork until smooth. Add in the oil and stir until well combined.
- Add the sugar, apple sauce, vanilla, flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Stir until the batter is evenly combined.
- Add in 1/2 cup of chocolate chips and mix. Pour the batter into a greased 9×5 loaf pan, then sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
- Bake for 55 minutes to an hour. Until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let it cool completely before slicing and serving.
